Sacred Geometry

This will be one of my last posts before I go to America! I leave in a week so it has officially entered the time period when I have to start dropping it into every conversation!
These images are from a collaborative test shoot last weekend with textile and prop design team 'Sacred Geometry'.
Sacred Geometry are Mariel Osborn and Anna Beam and they are based in Islington Mill. Their work ranges from conceptual set pieces to more fashion oriented body props and accessories. They have some amazing stuff, more of which can be seen on their blog http://www.crystallinecompound.blogspot.com/
Our model was Lauren Earth who was amazing as usual. Always a pleasure to work with, Lauren struck the right balance being able to look strong but also quite pure... almost ethereal.
Hair & Make Up artist was Kaye Fleming who really did a brilliant job creating a look that was really striking without being too heavy or overdone. One of those days where everything comes together!

So here are the studio shots from the morning of my day shooting with Rona. The shoot was styled again by Paddy Razzi who did a great job, I am really pleased with the pictures.

Manchester Markets

The lovely boys at Manchester City Council sent me over the final images from the Markets billboard campaign so thank you very much to them!
Also congratulations to Sophie (top image) who I have worked with quite a lot recently and who has just been signed to Next Model Management. Well done Sophie!

When A Train Goes By Its Such A Sad Sound

This story was shot exactly a week after the riots, an eerie twilight zone time. Nowhere was more eerie than this location though. I say location but actually it was just at estate that time forgot. We all felt like we had walked into the late 80s. With the series I wanted to capture a feeling that I think so many young people go through. That feeling when you are waiting for life to start... stuck in a crap place that you can't escape from. A hopeless feeling which unfortunately seems to be getting more and more common. The series features Rona again who is just brilliant. I don't really know what to say other than that! For clothes Paddy Razzi was in charge using a selection of Rona's own clothes and some pieces from his shop 'Oh Hell' which can be found in Afflecks Palace, Manchester.
We shot this story in the afternoon after a studio session, the results of which will be posted soon!
I also want to say a quick thanks to my fellow photographer, friend and doppleganger Gwen Jones who has been a big help to me recently with making sense and picking shots... this story included! To have a look at her own photography work go to http://akindoflicense.blogspot.com/

Models At Home

So as previously mentioned here is my first shoot for my models at home project featuring Heather from Boss. We shot at Zoe Hancock's house who also did an amazing job of styling the series. I really like the energy and colour in the images although I am not sure whether to keep the same style throughout the project. I guess we'll see how it develops!

Old Romantic

Here is a preview of some of the images I shot for Old Romantic's new website. Old Romantic is a label that specialises in vintage inspired clothing and accessories and their online shop should be live very soon! (I will be posting a link). Thanks to Sophie Bailey yet again for being wonderful as usual (the shoot was on her 18th birthday so even more praise is due!) Thanks to Rebecca Anderton for her magic touch on the Make Up and finally thank you to Mariel Osborn for assisting throughout the day!

Rona

Yesterday I met a lovely new model called Rona K. We were working on a look book for designers Plaque (images from that shoot coming soon!) but these were some test images I took of Rona in the studio.
Hope to work with Rona again on a test soon!

Manchester Markets

So driving back from the studio last night I finally got to see one of the billboards that I shot for Manchester Art's & Crafts Markets. The shot used for the billboard was one of three chosen from the day and features Sophie Bailey showing off her acting skills!
